<%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%> MARI I'ANSON

Mari I'Anson has been an Artist all her life. Through school days in somerset where she was encourages to draw and paint to a three year course at what was once The School of Science and Art at Weston - super - Mare, now Weston College. She afterwards worked in London as an Illustrator and for many years her work was seen in books, magazines and advertising.

During a painting holiday in Tuscany in the eighties she was so excited with the colours of the landscape; the ochres, terracottas and olives, that the work she brought home were so successful that she decided to give up Commercial Art and paint full time. Since then, she has worked mostly in Watercolour, Acryic and Oil, exhibiting both Nationally and Internationally.

Leaving the cold grey days of an English Winter, Mari spent months at a time travelling and painting abroad. Four Winters in Thailland, where she was Artist - Residence at Bandkok International School.

Mari has taken three trips to Southern Spain in the Andalusian mountains. Mari has travelled around India twice and earlier this year she went to Mexico. Going west, she stayed a while in Ottawa, where the rich colours of a Canadian Fall inspired some impressive oils.

In November, her work will be on display at The Nehru Centre in london, which is part of the High Commission of India. The drawings and paintings will depict people and places visited in many Countries from India and beyond.

Mari is pleased to have been invited to take part in the show 'Contemporary Talent for 2007', because it is as if Karma has drawn her back to Weston.
