Manuel Capurso
The contemporary urban society obliterates the typical social bonds experienced in small communities, creating a sort of hybrid where all the bases of social solidarity lose significance making the people completely disconnected from the surrounding environment. People only exist in their own world, they do not know each other and they never will.
The individual’s knowledge of each other, a factor, which their existence depends on, become so minute, that their existence as social creatures rapidly diminishes. The individuals are represented in a dreamlike state of mind always looking somewhere else towards an imaginary infinite.
Light, darkness, colour and shadow find themselves in a sort of equilibrium, as they were dancing in circle, and the individuals, winding through anonymous masses on the street of unidentified cities, gain visibility only within the surface, disappearing almost immediately afterwards in the shade of the surrounding darkness.
