My Art practice focuses on a combination of traditional painting and mixed media work. This can be developed into installation and time based media. It’s context is largely inspired by my country of origin ‘Malta’. The cross-cultural approach from living in the UK and my life experiences travelling in different countries in Europe and Asia, inspire my decisions towards the process and concept of my work.

My work communicates notions of territory, and to some extent nostalgia towards my country of birth, by focusing on Malta’s social and ethical traditions and culture.
My current investigation is directly inspired by this ethos, since it is an artistic examination of the plight of refugees, driven from their homes by war and poverty, to search for a better life in another country.
The film and a series drawings endeavours to show, the reality of human beings in a tragic situation, and also focuses on the one illuminating human virtue, hope.

I continuously question my art practice and search for importance and significance within my knowledge. To expand and improve the way it can be applied to and mirror the human condition.
