The reasons behind The Art Sale are to help artists sell their work that has been sitting around their homes or studios for a while, or to sell new work that will in turn help the artists to promote their current work to the public.

The Art Sale is not an exhibition, as such; it is a sale of art.
Therefore, it is the gallery’s discretion to how the work is displayed.

The work will be hung on the walls, placed on tables or carefully stood against the gallery walls. Due to this, it is ideal that the artist does not submit work that has specific standards of display.

Entry fee for The Art Sale is £10 for a maximum of 5 artworks.
Each artist is allowed to enter a further 5 artworks at a fee of £3 each.

There will be 15% commission taken by the gallery for any work sold.

Work must reach a wide audience, so we ask artists to enter work priced between £10 and £300 only.

Price labels will be added to each piece of artwork.
While these asking prices are clear to the visitors, we do keep a negotiation price in mind to encourage sales for the artists.

Size limit of each artwork must be no larger than 60cm x 60cm.

The gallery promotes The Art Sale by placing posters, where possible, in towns, on notice boards and by online networking.
We encourage the artists to use the posters for their own promotion, for their websites and blogs, or to be printed and placed on known notice boards where it will catch the public’s attention.

Photos of The Art Sale will be added to the gallery facebook page and blog.
These will not be removed, and so can be used to help further promotion of each artist that takes part in The Art Sales.
We encourage artists to invite people to the facebook page and are welcome to use the photos of their own artwork from this page.

You can help promote the gallery by downloading the poster which is available as a pdf. Please put posters up in your local area on notice boards, at work, in windows at your home. Go ask permission to put the posters in cafe's and restaurants. Most owners are happy to put them up in their windows or on display tables with other promotional material.

If you are interested in being invited for future art sales please email theartsale@thelloydgillgallery.com
