My work in paint and print explores human relationships, family life and social issues. The emotional intensity and the psychological content of the work has been accessed through the development of a working process that enables me to work in a rapid and instinctive manner with analysis and critical decision making taking place before and often after the act of doing.
There is often a strong narrative to my work and drawing is an important part of the process. Sometimes ironic, my work can have elements of black humour whilst also dealing with deeper personal issues which in translation become universal. |
