Statement 2007
Photography for me is the process of capturing a fleeting moment in time. Be it a portrait, a landscape, an event or even wildlife.
I have come to realise that a photograph is only as good as the planning involved in taking it. A perfect sunset is a short moment in time, a half an hour window in the whole day, or several days, and a process in which a completely identical image (in the future) can never be repeated.
My main influences in Photography are the legendary landscape photographer Ansel Adams, and the contemporary photographer Gregory Crewdson.
I have been experimenting with time lapse and also flash photography where
the photographer can manipulate what they are seeing. I also use Adobe Photoshop
to enhance my photographs (and bring out the boldest tomes and colours possible),
but cruicially not to change the integrity of the image.
