<%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%> Ian Penna CV and Statement
Ian Penna's ambition is to pursue the art of sculpture. My work is predominantly three dimensional and of an emotional range. The materials I use are to show texture, surface quality, tactile qualities, and the quality of light on various surfaces. I combine my skills of preparation, investigation, manipulation and application of materials in space.

Ian Penna's idea of articulating forms through materials and their physical properties becomes an investigative way of questioning how form, rather than shape can be achieved.

When manipulating recognizable surfaces, materials and forms, as well as combining processes from architecture, sculpture and painting, the work produced evolves towards Formalist propositions by necessity which are abstract, promoting some value of aesthetics.
