The Lloyd Gill Gallery

Established in August 2007, The Lloyd Gill Gallery has gone from strength to strength presenting and selling at a high standard, yet maintaining affordable Contemporary Fine Art.

The gallery is situated in the picturesque Town of Weston-Super-Mare in the South West of England. The Lloyd Gill Gallery serves as a stage to Local, National and International Artists.

The gallery has shown internationally renowned artists including Clare Carter; who has had a succession of European residencies. The gallery has drawn visitors from Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Cardiff, London and Europe including Denmark.

The gallery has recently associated with Weston University Campus with the curation of 14 different students together in a group exhibition to raise awareness of Contemporary Art in the Victorian built town of Weston-super-Mare which is based in Somerset, Southwest, UK. The Gallery is based in a Victorian House built in 1860 with all original Victorian features including architrave and cornices and wooden shutters. There are beautiful marble mantle place’s restored to former glory.

To develop the community and encourage the local students to develop a professional standard, a prize has been introduced called 'Contemporary Art Practitioner at the Lloyd Gill Gallery 2008' to motivate one student, Anika Smith. The Prize went to the local artist during the Weston Uni Campus exhibition at the Gallery.

'The Future of Contemporary Art 2010'

Preview 11th September

Exhibition starts 13th September and runs till 8th October

This exhibition will showcase examples of contemporary art from BA Fine Art degree graduates from Falmouth, The Slade, Oxford Brookes, Bath Spa, Cambridge and Suffolk. The exhibition will feature paintings and photography by cutting edge young ambitious graduates with very bright promising futures in the art world. It is the galleries policy to once a year, showcase the best new graduate talent and this exhibition will epitomise that policy.
