Statement
Process is at the core of the practice and what is presented to you as the viewer are highly structured and carefully rendered artworks composed from a system of thought. The meticulous employment of linear compositions results in the construction of a network of geometric forms; which in turn lead to the collision of line, form and colour. Manual categorisation is at the forefront of the practice, which combined with numerical inspired patterns lead to the mathematically informed discoveries. These discoveries are realised and then revealed through an abstract visual dialogue. Embedded within the systematic process is the necessity to figure out the ‘solutions’ to the instructions which are selected prior to the execution of each particular piece; commonly with an emphasis on categorising the ‘size’ of the geometric forms within relation to each other in the given composition. Dimensions, including the thickness/ depth of components and line, along with colour, are all governed by the pre-set rules; therefore the outcomes become the evidence of the system which precedes the construction of the finalised works. Often sitting between two and three-dimensional forms, the constructions commonly enforce an active response from the viewer, with perception being a focal point of the inquiries pursued.
