As an artist living in Weston-super-mare, I cannot help but be influenced by the sea and the nature’s elements. However, as a Mum, I am also sensitive to the fast pace of today’s
man made lifestyle and the perhaps false values that we hold dear. |
|
Through the metaphor of the sea, and its impact on our coastline, I am trying to provoke an emotional response to the negative impact on our lives of consumerism, celebrity culture and the global warming which it is proven to cause. Looking at my artwork will, I hope, cause you to stop in your busy life, for a moment, to consider the details that are around us, and the fast pace with which they are changing. |
| You will perhaps see small areas of drawing or photographs, snapshots
of moments that can never be repeated, swallowed up by vast areas of nothingness.
I enjoy mixed media and find that employing many layers through collage also reflects the many layers within our lives. It is not simple or straightforward and sometimes you need to take a step backwards to see what is really important, or interesting, in the bigger picture. |
