Working with the legacies of Minimalism, Process Art, and Conceptual Art, Oliver Palmer explores the themes of negative space, impermanence, reversible forms and processes, and the relation of the experiential aspect of sculpture to its pictorial counterparts - both in the form of pre-conceptual drawings and photographic documentation.

The reversed corners on these boxes both invades their internal spaces and compartmentalise a corner of the world outside of them. When the corners or edges of a box are reversed or displaced, relationships are set-up within it and, whilst still remaining a whole, the box is split as if it were two objects. In this way it is put into a new relation both with the space around it and with its former, yet still recognisable, box shape. These found objects altered in the manner of specific objects make no attempt to hide their origins.
