Statement:

Emerging Photographer and artist Ori Latter was born in Israel in 1979 and ever since he remembers, he always had a camera. A move to London in 2004 provided the opportunity to follow an old desire and work in the British film industry. Ori started out working mainly as an assistant director and had the privilege of assisting the likes of directors Terrence Malick and Sean Ellis before moving onto commercials and music promos. Throughout this time Ori’s continued his unrelenting affair with photography and decided to further his knowledge and pursue his real passion. A one-off opportunity to assist a busy fashion photographer quickly turned into Ori’s new day job. He later worked regularly with the renowned photographers Guy Hills, Jamie Baker, Simon Lipman, Eitan Lee and many more. Ori recently completed a BA (hons) in photography at Middlesex University. His latest work “Re-la-tion-ship(s)” has been received with great praise and has recently been exhibited at the Truman Brewery in London as part of the Free Range exhibition.

Re-la-tion-ship(s) invites the viewer to take a longer look at the repetitive world of dating and finding love. Life in the big city offers single men and women an abundance of dating opportunities waiting to be materialised. This abundance often enables us to skip freely from one opportunity to another. This project is a personal reflection on the subject. The women in this series have all had relationships varying in length with me, the photographer. They were asked to participate and were willing to confront the challenges of being photographed. My desire to understand what makes some relationships stronger than others led me on this personal and intimate journey.
