The title of this group exhibition is ‘use your peripheral vision to
make a decision’ and the Lloyd Gill Gallery has gathered seven participating
Artists. The Artists in this group exhibition agreed that the format of the
exhibition would help unfasten further concerns and ideas of their work. The
title is asking the viewer or Art appreciator to access the deeper concerns
of each Artist by reading the constructed analysis created between curator
and Artist. Each Artist was asked 5 questions in relation to their work. The
questions were directed towards their practice, meanings and concerns depicted
by Photographs, Mixed Media and Paintings. The questioning and answering dialogue
of the participating Artists and curator can be read online or at the exhibition.
The exhibition is attempting to bridge the gap between the Artist’s
sophisticated visual language and how the work is perceived by the audience.
The works in the exhibition are scattered with philosophical and literary
references, fusing socio - cultures elements with contemporary content echoing
a strain of elusive narratives that run throughout the entire exhibition.
