Statement
My practice acts as a conduit for my personal philosophy around the human condition. I attempt to explore how we relate with the world around us and I seek to understand what it is that makes us/me human and how our modern way of life is affecting the essence of humanity.
My work also includes quasi-photographic imagery, achieved by working in post production and combining other art forms/processes such as sculpture, drawing, painting and digital manipulation; in turn giving the post production process an importance which makes it integral to the work. The reason I choose to use primarily photography is because it carries an inherent false sense of realism and truth that when manipulated in a certain way, can really question our perceptions of what we think is real.
